Mr. David Greene
June 2026
Greetings, Parents/Guardians,
I would like to start off by welcoming you to the 2026-2027 academic school year. My name is David Greene, and I am the Principal of Anne Chesnutt Middle School. My staff and I are passionate about our students and the educational opportunities we provide here at The HIVE. Through dedicated partnerships with our stakeholders, we can continue our mission to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and supportive school experience. As a parent, I recognize the importance of a strong home-to-school connection, and believe that when all stakeholders do their part together, we can meet the needs of our students.
Vision:
Our Vision at the Hive is to help our students grow both academically and socially in a global community through Accountability, Compassion, Motivation, and Synergy.
For the 25-26 school year, ACMS strived to provide students with a safe and supporting environment, the best educational opportunities available, and to maintain a clean and organized school. The hard work of our staff, students, and stakeholders helped us reach our goals of (1) remain at least a “C” school according to NCDPI School Report Card status, and (2) move our overall academic proficiency by 5 points from 47.7 (2025) to 53.6 (2026)!! We have also continued to reduce OSS and RJC discipline numbers through Positive Behavior Support (PBIS). This year, we will be challenging our students to strive for growth in the areas of academics and positive behavior, and attendance. We will be striving to become a “B” school, reduce out-of- school suspensions by 10% and raise our attendance rate to 94% for the school year. These are fully attainable goals, but we need the support of our parents/guardians to reinforce the purpose behind public education and what it is that you want your child to accomplish at the conclusion of their time at Anne Chesnutt Middle School. We are here to serve the whole child, but we must make sure everyone understands our purpose is academic driven, and we will not allow students to come disrupt the learning environment and take away learning opportunities for others.
On behalf of all our staff, I would like to extend to each of our students and their parents/guardians a very warm welcome. We believe that great schools are the result of building and maintaining a strong culture of support, communication, and collaboration among all stakeholders. We are very excited about the 2026-2027 school year and look forward to helping your child succeed.
I wish all of our students, families, staff, and community members a very successful 2026-2027 school year!
Sincerely,
David Greene, Principal
